Jessica Walton is a picture book author, teacher, parent, daughter of a trans parent, and proud queer disabled activist. Introducing Teddy is her first book, illustrated by Dougal MacPherson, written to help explain gender identity in a simple, positive way, published worldwide. Jess is currently working on a picture book about an amputee. She lost her leg to cancer aged 9, wearing a prosthetic leg ever since. Sick of prosthetic legs that tried to mimic real skin, Jess started wearing patterned prosthetic legs, her current leg is covered in green dragon scales. Jess lives in Melbourne with her wife, her two kids, and Archie the cat.
