Queensland Writers Centre - a one stop shop for emerging authors, networking opportunities, writing workshops and resources. A great start for any budding author, QWC often includes writing workshops for young writers during school holidays.
Sunshine Coast Literary Association - encourages and helps develops writers and readers on the Sunshine Coast. Including an annual writing competition. This volunteer organisation ceased in October 2015 but the page is still active with information.
Book links (QLD) Inc - The Book Links vision is to develop generations of literate children and young people who appreciate all forms of story and how story is created. The mission is to link people and groups throughout the community with stories and experiences to build literacy and learning, so as to enrich lives.
Write links - Write Links is a writers' group for beginning and emerging children’s writers and/or illustrators living in Brisbane and the surrounding area.
Gondor Writer's Centre - Kilcoy - Gondor Writer's Centre is situated in Kilcoy, created by Elaine Ouston, a published author, publishing editor at Morris Publishing Australia, and editor, writing tutor and designer, along with Ron Day with 30 years experience in the writing industry. Gondor Writer's Centre offers a range of writing workshops by leading Australian authors plus a range of manuscript services including manuscript appraisals, editing and proofreading, book cover design, illustration for picture books, and layout for print or eBook
Spine Out - a great new emagazine aimed at young adults. Contents includes book reviews, articles with authors, latest books and competitions. Readers can also submit their writing for publication.
Express Media - designed to support and provide developmental opportunities for young people who like writing, or a parent, teacher, librarian, youth worker or anyone interested in literature.
Voiceworks - a quarterly magazine featuring writing by young people under 25 years of age. Submissions welcome
OzKids in Print - a quarterly magazine featuring poetry and prose submissions from school children. Organised by Australian Children's Literary Board. Submissions Welcome

Love to Read - The National Year of Reading was held in 2012, linking together Australian libraries and library associations, creating inspirational programs and events across the country. CYA Conference - This Brisbane based conference is aimed as professional development for new and established writers and illustrators of Children’s and Young Adult literature. Master classes and workshops will be conducted by authors, illustrators and industry professionals.
