USC Lecturers

Dr Gary Crew is Professor of Creative Writing at USC. First published Internationally in 1985, Gary has continued to write over a broad range of genre from illustrated books to creative non-fiction, addressing audiences from primary to adult. He has won the Australian Children’s Book Council Book of the Year 4 times, twice for his novels, twice for his Picture Books. His multi-award winning books are published all over the world. Gary lives in Maleny. He admits to an obsession with dogs of all species (except maybe fluffy white ones that yap).

 

Ross Watkins is an author and illustrator for children and adults. His book One Photo (Penguin Random House) was shortlisted for the 2017 CBCA Picture Book of the Year, and The Boy Who Grew Into a Tree (Penguin Random House) was shortlisted for the 2013 Aurealis Award for Speculative Fiction. His debut adult novel The Apology (UQP) is due for release August 2018. Ross teaches creative writing at USC.

 

 

 

 

Pathways to Publication through USC Creative Writing

Dr Gary Crew and invited lecturers will outline how USC Creative Writing can assist the publication journey. This is a free session for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and adults.
