Zanni Louise

Based in Northern NSW, Zanni Louise has written over thirty-five internationally published books for kids.

Her recent middle grade, Queenie In Seven Moves (Walker Books, 2023) addresses housing instability in regional areas. It was selected for the Queensland Readers Cup. Her new book Cora Seen and Heard (Walker Books, May 2024) is a twelve-year-old’s attempt to renovate her personality. Zanni mentors grown-up writers who want to write for kids. She also loves visiting schools and inspiring kids to love books and writing as much as she does.

Talk: Home is Where the Heart is. (Yrs 4-7) & (Yrs 5-7)

In 2020, Zanni Louise's family had to leave their rental, stay with friends and move seven times over a summer. The seed was planted for Zanni's first novel. Zanni takes readers on a journey through making a book and learning to write from the heart, as well as exploring themes such as coping with change and resilience. Kids will also learn how to write their own song.

Talk: Learning to Fly! Have you ever wanted to fly (Yrs 4-6)

Have you ever wanted to fly? In this 45 min presentation, Zanni takes kids through the magic of storytelling and shows that with persistence, courage and imagination, we can learn to fly like Pigasus, cartwheel down hills, play for the Matildas and write books … whatever it is that we dream.
